We invite all boys and girls from age 5-14 to sign up for football and cheerleading.

Carson City Pop Warner Youth Football and Cheerleading is a non-profit organization run by volunteers.  It is the oldest youth football and cheerleading program in Northern Nevada.  Each season, we provide tackle football and cheerleading activities to approximately 300 boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 14. CCPW is the only recognized youth football program affiliated with Carson City Youth Sports Association (YSA).

 

CCPW has sent teams to compete at the regional level in California and at the national level in Florida and Las Vegas.

 

We strive to promote academics in addition to sportsmanship, that is why CCPW participants with GPA’s of 3.0 and above are recognized at a Regional and National Level every season.

 

CCPW is a prep league for high school football and is supported by Coach Blair Roman for the Carson High School Football Program.  Each year, Coach Roman hosts a player and coaches’ clinic.  The CHS football program is closely aligned with CCPW and uses the same terminology and methodology that assists players with their future in the sport.   CCPW is governed by National Pop Warner Rules and Regulations, these rules do not waiver between cities or associations.  The division of play is decided at a National level with National Football League’s (NFL) participation to determine the age and weight limits of players participating in the program.  This is the backbone of safety for the National Pop Warner organization.

 

The Pop Warner program has developed some of the best high school, college and pro-football players nationwide, and CCPW is no exception.  Some of CCPW’s local football stars include:

 

• Luke Carter- Codefensive player of the year in 2009.  Received football scholarship to Malone University in Ohio
  

• Blake Plattsmier, Quarterback.  Attending San Mateo Junior College
  

• Justin Barlow, first team all-Region and all-Sierra selection and co-lineman of the Year for the all-Region team and Lineman of the year in the Sierra League
  

• Dylan Sawyers, co-offensive player of the year in 2009
  

• Joshua Carter, currently playing semipro football for the Carolina Eagles
  

 

 Games are played on Friday nights or Saturdays 

and are free to attend
